Hi there...

No I haven't dropped off the face of the earth - I have just been occupied on a number of personal and new business opportunities. Belated as it may be, welcome to the new year and I hope that you all had a safe and enjoyable break at Christmas. 2005 was a big year for many and from the anecdotal evidence I have come across 2006 is not going to be without its challenges. According to a survey done by The Australian newspaper, this year many businesses see a tough time ahead and their focus will be on building capacity into their business for internal growth. The markets will be tight and new strategies will need to be identified to bring about growth in the business. The main factor that many of us have yet to deal with will be the on-flow effect of increased fuel prices which is going to make its impression in every way soon. Certainly a number of retailers are finding it tough with sales being down for December and even into the new year. This will require many of you to possibly re-think your business strategies and to address your business plans - You do have a business plan don't you?
Some of you will already have received an email about this in which case this will be a simple reminder - for the rest of you - How would you and a friend like to attend a weekend personal growth seminar valued at $1790 for nothing? This is genuine offer with no catch. I have personally attended and as such have absolute faith in this offer. Click here for enrolment or Read below and see how you could receive free tickets to attend...

Being the start of a new year, in this issue of Superb News I wish to focus on how important it is to develop the right sorts of plans for the year ahead. We have had a chance to take a break and hopefully found some time to consider the plans we may wish to put in place for the new year. Whether your objectives are about growing your business, increasing your business capacity or even considering the longer term future for you and your business, now is an ideal time to give some attention to these factors. The first step however is to realise what you want and then to commit to making the change.

I hope you enjoy this issue and that you too can receive something positive from what I share with you in the articles I include. I welcome you sharing this email with your friends and associates and encourage you to do so. You can make use of the "Share with a friend" link at the end of this email.

  • Listen With Empathy
No matter how outrageous, inconsiderate, false, self-cantered, or pompous the person you're talking to is, remember: He or she is simply trying to survive, just like you. We're all participating in the same physical and psychological struggle. Some of us just have better survival strategies than others. Thus, the obnoxious person deserves more pity than scorn. "The wounded deer leaps highest," Emily Dickinson wrote, and it's true.

  • Is Context More Important Than Content
Context: the circumstances or events that form the environment within which something exists or takes place Content: the amount of something contained in something else
Most of what we hear about today is the content of business-- like how things are done, what things should be done when and prioritizing the doingness of business. It's also where most business owners spend most of their time.
